Old Detroit has a cancer.  And that cancer is crime.

For those who believe that America’s spirit of community is as
beleaguered as its automobile industry, one only needs to look to the
recent efforts to give Detroit a RoboCop statue for a renewed sense of
hope. Denied a sculpture of its cybernetic savior by the evil, possibly OCP-owned powers that be, the city took arms against its oppressors, rallied round a Kickstarter campaign and has successfully raised the necessary $50,000 to build the thing.
Imagination Station now says he’s “very positive” that the statue will
take its rightful place near Detroit’s abandoned Michigan Central train
depot—although Detroit Mayor Dave Bing continues to argue that he
doesn’t see “see where we get a lot of value” out of immortalizing
Detroit’s post-apocalyptic protector.
